Galih (Refal Hady) is never experiencing first love. He is an exemplary high school students, introverted, and living in the shadow of his late father and his mother who works as a single-mother. Galih is forced to prioritize his education and not his passion, so as not to lose his scholarships and university entrance chance. His mother, Mirna (Dyah Ayu Pasha), does not want Galih to follow the path his late father, who died of a disappointment. Disappointed because he failed to revive a record store called Nada Music, due to competition with the digital world. Galih always carry his walkman everywhere and listening to mixtape of his father. It contains radical songs that inspire Galih to pursuit his dream. Ratna (Sheryl Sheinafia), a new student, moves to Galih’s school. Sh lives without purpose, always chasing instant things, like millenials girls. But she secretly enjoys writing and composing songs. She never consider her passion seriously, perhaps because she never has the support of his father (Heng Tornando). In one afternoon, in the field behind the school, Galih and Ratna meet. Ratna likes Galih’s walkman. A song is reverberating in their ears: “With you free from sorrow…” They stare at each other. Sorrow unites them. They exchange opinions on their lives, they realize that their differences can encourage one another to escape from the power named system, and dare to pursue their passion. Their differences is also the potential to destroy their relationship. First love brings Galih and Ratna to a new stage in their lives.
