A pitiful incident is where Egi (Gilbert Marciano) meets Fatimah (Ghea D. Syawal) who has a totally different background. Egi, an unruly junkie, has a bitter attitude and way of speaking while Fatimah, a daughter of a head of pesantren (Islamic boarding school), is a polite and tender girl. Egi, influenced by a pesantren environtment—where he hides using a fake identity—and his interaction with Fatimah, starts to melt especially to the meaning of bismillah (in the name of Allah). He then tries to express what he finds deep in his heart, quoting words of wisdom that are always told to him by Fatimah during his stay. Egi’s last bismillah is spoken during the most tragical moment of Fatimah’s life.
